Raise a glass to Heritage Day

Today, 24th September, South Africa celebrates Heritage Day. It is a day when South Africans embrace their culture and all that makes South Africa such a wonderful, colourful, inspiring country.

With a population of more than 49 million people and 11 different official languages, South Africa is home to many vibrant and rich cultures. Heritage Day, a public holiday in South Africa, ensures that South Africans across the globe are able to celebrate the diversity of their own beliefs within the wider context of the whole Rainbow Nation.

Across the world today South Africans will be attending events, inviting friends and family over for a traditional Braai (BBQ) and raising a glass with each other, joining together to celebrate the unique mix that make up their nation.

A country as diverse in people and culture as it is in soil and landscape, it is unsurprising that South Africa is now being called the most exciting wine nation in the Southern Hemisphere by many leading wine critics.

South Africa is home to some of the oldest soils on the planet and the constant interplay between ancient geology, valley slopes, soaring mountains and coastal breezes enables our winemakers to take your taste buds on a tour of the vineyard, bringing to life our vibrant country and the place they call home.

It is the people, the passion, and the place that makes South Africa and our wines special, so raise a glass with us and celebrate the Rainbow Nation with South Africa in your glass.
